Out West

I love finding art quilts on display in public buildings. This is Judith Trager’s beautiful quilt “Walk the Rocks” in the Visitor Center at Red Rocks Park and Amphitheater near Denver Colorado. The quilt was mounted against the wall in a very unusual way, with the sections overlapping and free standing, evocative of the unusual rock formation that makes the acoustics at Red Rocks so outstanding.

We are visiting son Tyler and family in Broomfield. I’ve always wanted to see Red Rocks and maybe attend a concert some day. Also went for an interesting hike at Dinosaur Ridge. I need much more time to explore Colorado.

Halloween is a favorite holiday for Tyler, Elizabeth and 9 year old Josie. I had fun making a quick table runner to bring to them. I actually put this small project on my longarm machine and quilted spider webs in the black squares. I need all the practice I can get.
